Princess Eugenie Welcomes Baby Girl in Portugal

Date:

Princess Eugenie has welcomed her third child, a baby girl, expressing immense love alongside her husband, Jack Brooksbank. The news was shared through an Instagram post featuring a photo of the newborn. The couple has not disclosed the baby’s name yet.

A statement released by Buckingham Palace confirmed the birth, stating that Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank’s daughter was born on August 3, 2026, at 6:20 pm in a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. The Royal Family, including The King and Queen, were joyous upon receiving the good news.

Eugenie and Jack divide their time between the UK and Portugal due to Jack’s work commitments. They are grateful to the hospital staff for their care and are currently focused on spending time with their sons, August and Ernest, while deliberating on their daughter’s name.

The newborn, not holding a royal title, is now 15th in line to the throne, causing Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, to move to 16th place. She is the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the third to be born post her passing in 2022.

Additionally, this new arrival marks the fifth grandchild of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson. Princess Eugenie had announced her pregnancy in early May, and her family, along with Buckingham Palace, expressed excitement and anticipation for the new addition.

Before starting their family, Eugenie and Jack tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle in 2018. Jack’s professional journey includes roles in the hospitality industry and as the European brand director of Casamigos Tequila.

The birth of their third child comes shortly after Eugenie and her sister, Beatrice, attended the family wedding of their cousin Peter Phillips, following recent controversies involving their parents. The sisters had abstained from traditional royal events due to ongoing issues surrounding their father, Prince Andrew.

The National Audit Office revealed details about the royal family’s residential arrangements, highlighting that the King provides accommodation for Beatrice and Eugenie, despite their non-working royal status. The new baby’s arrival has brought joy to the family amidst ongoing public scrutiny.
