Princess Lilibet, the daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will never have the opportunity to meet her late grandmother, Princess Diana. Turning five next month, the four-year-old was born in California in June 2021. She was named after her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and her father’s late mother, Diana, who tragically passed away in a car accident in 1997.
Meghan Markle, Lilibet’s mother, had purchased a Cartier Tank Francaise watch for her years before she was born, following her success landing a role in the TV series “Suits.” The watch, engraved with a special message, holds sentimental value for Meghan, who intends to pass it on to her daughter in the future.
When Lilibet receives the watch, she will have a similar timepiece to Diana, who also wore a Cartier Tank Française watch during public appearances in the 1990s. Meghan has been seen wearing other jewelry pieces that once belonged to Diana, such as an Emerald cut aquamarine ring and a Cartier tennis bracelet.
Lilibet was born on June 4, 2021, at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California. She was christened in March 2023 at her parents’ home, attended by close family and friends, including her godfather Tyler Perry. Notably, no royal relatives were present at the private ceremony.
