An American pub in Dallas, Texas, serving over 5,000 beers to England fans, had to shut down during a World Cup watch party for England’s victory against Croatia due to chaotic circumstances. The Londoner Pub reported earnings of more than £30,000 from selling 2,352 bottles of beer just a day before the incident.
Following rowdy behavior from fans draped in St. George’s flags, the fire marshal ordered an early closure, with police presence outside the venue as fans lingered around the area. The pub expressed gratitude for the business but emphasized that the property and landscaping suffered damage amid the chaos, leading to the unexpected closure.
Despite attempts to manage the situation, the pub had to close early due to the disorderly conduct. Fans were seen engaging in disruptive activities, such as kicking a football onto the balcony and dropping plants from the edge. Police intervened, dispersing the crowd and assisting in the cleanup efforts.
The closure was attributed to the venue reaching maximum capacity with limited security personnel on duty, leading to safety concerns. The Londoner Pub informed patrons of a planned reopening at 11 am on Thursday after addressing the aftermath of the event.
