“Queen Camilla Hosts Cancer-Detecting Dogs at Reception”

Date:

Queen Camilla hosted a reception at Clarence House to honor cancer-detecting dogs, accompanied by the brother of the Princess of Wales. James Middleton, a known dog lover, warmly greeted Camilla with a kiss on the cheek as they welcomed two Medical Detection Dogs trained to detect cancer in humans.

During the event, the Queen interacted with golden Labrador Jodie and fox red Labrador Floren, both trained to detect different types of cancer. Jodie impressively identified the disease in urine samples, showcasing her skills. Mr. Middleton, the founder of Ella & Co dog food company, expressed amazement at the dogs’ abilities and their contribution to the cause.

Camilla also learned about an “electronic nose” developed to mimic the dogs’ diagnostic talents. Despite the technological advancement, she emphasized the irreplaceable role of nature and dogs in this field. Following demonstrations and speeches, Camilla expressed her desire for the dogs to return, as many skeptics had been convinced by their capabilities.

In addition, the Queen met Wolfie, a black Labrador trained to alert his owner to symptoms of Postural Tachycardia Syndrome. Wolfie’s unique abilities, including traveling on planes and enjoying double-decker buses, intrigued Camilla and other attendees.

The event highlighted the ongoing research and developments in utilizing canines for medical purposes. Camilla, a longstanding supporter of Medical Detection Dogs, emphasized the vital role these animals play in saving lives. The Queen acknowledged the superiority of dogs in detecting illnesses compared to technology and expressed interest in future updates on the subject.
