“Reform Party Candidate Exposed as Admirer of Fascist Figure”

Date:

A political candidate affiliated with the Reform Party and known to have met Nigel Farage has been revealed as an admirer of Oswald Mosley, a historical figure associated with fascist ideologies.

Andrew Mahon, seen in a photo shaking hands with the Reform leader, openly supported Oswald Mosley and Enoch Powell. In a Facebook post from December 2024, Mahon expressed his belief that Mosley and Powell were correct in their views, stating that multiculturalism in the UK had failed and caused significant problems.

Joe Mulhall, the Director of Research at Hope Not Hate, uncovered Mahon’s controversial post and highlighted the concerning nature of Reform Party candidates expressing extreme opinions. Mulhall emphasized the historical context of Oswald Mosley’s association with fascism and anti-Semitism, underscoring the severity of Mahon’s support for such ideologies.

Responding to a user who engaged with his posts, Mahon defended his views on integration in the UK, stating that there have been significant failures in the integration process that politicians have not adequately addressed. Despite his claims of not being racist, Mahon’s statements have sparked controversy and raised concerns about his political stance.

Mahon’s admiration for Enoch Powell, known for his controversial “Rivers of Blood” speech, further underscores his alignment with contentious historical figures. His social media activity, including derogatory language and offensive remarks towards public figures, has drawn additional scrutiny.

Following the exposure of Mahon’s views, the Reform Party stated that they are investigating the allegations. Mahon, who recently shared a photo with Farage endorsing him for the upcoming local elections, has portrayed himself as a patriotic candidate aiming to represent disillusioned residents.

These revelations about Mahon’s controversial views add to a series of controversies involving Reform Party candidates across different regions, highlighting the need for scrutiny and accountability within political circles.
