Stunning photographs have been released following the apprehension of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor at Sandringham this morning in what is being described as one of the most dramatic incidents in the history of the royal family.
Thames Valley Police arrived at the royal estate and detained the former Duke of York on suspicion of misconduct in public office related to his communications with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during his tenure as a trade envoy.
Despite vehemently denying any wrongdoing in his association with Epstein, Andrew has consistently maintained his innocence. In a surprising turn of events, it was revealed that King Charles was not informed in advance of the arrest.
“I have received with the utmost concern the reports regarding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and the allegations of misconduct in public office,” stated King Charles III. “What will follow is a comprehensive, fair, and proper investigation by the relevant authorities in the appropriate manner.”
Both King Charles and Queen Camilla continued with their royal duties today despite the arrest. King Charles made an appearance at the opening of London Fashion Week, while Camilla visited the Sinfonia Smith Square Hall in her capacity as a patron.
Police officers were observed in the vicinity of Wood Farm in Sandringham following Andrew’s apprehension. They were also seen at the Royal Lodge conducting a search of Andrew’s former residence.
Today’s arrest of Andrew comes amidst escalating scrutiny over his ties to the deceased billionaire Epstein. Notably, King Charles III was not informed of the arrest prior to its occurrence this morning.
The Thames Valley Police took the lead in the arrest of Andrew on suspicions of misconduct in public office. Subsequently, Andrew was seen departing a police station later in the day.
While King Charles III attended the London Fashion Week opening during the arrest, Queen Camilla was spotted leaving the Sinfonia Smith Square Hall in London after her visit.
In light of the news of Andrew’s arrest, members of the public gathered outside Buckingham Palace. Additionally, King Charles III had a meeting with the Ambassador of El Salvador at St James’s Palace today.
Later in the evening, Andrew was observed returning to Sandringham following the day’s events.
