Charged with using threatening behavior towards the King’s brother on May 6 in Norfolk, Alex Jenkinson is facing legal actions by Suffolk Police, who are also seeking a Stalking Protection Order against him based on evidence from Mountbatten-Windsor and examinations of Jenkinson’s phone.
During a court session at Westminster Magistrates Court, Deputy Chief Magistrate Tan Ikram disclosed excerpts from the ex-prince’s witness statement, crucial to both legal cases.
Mountbatten-Windsor narrated that while walking his dogs on the estate, he noticed a car, presumed to belong to the press, and later encountered a man in a balaclava who recognized him and ran after his vehicle.
Jenkinson, accompanied by his dog Indie, was barred from entering the courthouse and the hearing proceeded in his absence. His lawyer explained his housing situation, stating that he is homeless, residing in a Travelodge with his dog for support due to ADHD.
The judge expressed skepticism regarding the lack of documentation proving Jenkinson’s condition and the necessity of a support animal but deferred the police’s bid for a Stalking Protection Order.
The legal proceedings revealed that Jenkinson, accused of causing fear to the former Duke of York, is on bail with stringent conditions barring him from various Royal Family sites and contact with Andrew or entering Norfolk.
As the court session wrapped up, the interim Stalking Protection Order against Jenkinson was extended, with upcoming pre-trial and final hearings scheduled for January and February next year, respectively.
