Meghan Markle has unveiled a previously unseen image of her son, Prince Archie, as he celebrates his seventh birthday today. The endearing photo, shared on Instagram by the Duchess of Sussex, captures young Archie lying on his father Prince Harry’s chest shortly after birth. Another recent picture depicts Archie and presumably his sister, Princess Lilibet, enjoying a beach outing.
In her Instagram post, Meghan expressed, “7 years later…happy birthday to our sweet boy,” followed by a heart emoji. The post has garnered numerous likes from fans. Archie, the oldest child of Harry and Meghan, holds the sixth position in the line of succession. Born on May 6, 2019, at the private Portland Hospital in London, Archie weighed 7lb 3oz at birth.
The young prince, bearing a resemblance to his father’s red hair, was just 10 months old when he, along with his parents, relocated from the UK to California, where he now resides with his younger sister, Princess Lilibet. Archie visited the UK once for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022, marking his last encounter with his grandfather, King Charles.
Despite recent tensions within the royal family, King Charles expressed immense joy upon Archie’s birth in 2019. Duncan Larcombe, a royal expert, noted that Archie’s birthday accentuates the strained relationship between the King and his son Harry. Last year, Meghan commemorated Archie’s sixth birthday on Instagram, affectionately referring to him as “our sweet boy” while sharing a snapshot of him watching a sunset.
Meghan’s Instagram feed features occasional glimpses of Archie since she launched her As Ever business last year, although she has taken care to shield his face from the public.
