A series of Russian missile and drone attacks in and around Ukraine’s capital resulted in injuries to at least 16 individuals overnight and into Thursday morning, according to local authorities. The Kyiv City Military Administration confirmed that over 10 locations were targeted, with casualties including a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy.
Ukraine’s Air Force disclosed that they successfully eliminated or subdued 131 Russian aerial threats during the nighttime assault. The primary areas under attack were the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions, with strikes recorded at 36 locations and debris falling at five sites.
The assault involved the deployment of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as 157 drones and decoys. Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that their military targeted metallurgical and electronics plants, facilities of the military-industrial complex, as well as energy and transport infrastructures in the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions.
In Odesa, seven individuals, including two children, were injured, with significant property damage reported. Similarly, in Kyiv, multiple districts saw various buildings and vehicles damaged. A total of 33 sites were impacted in the Kyiv region, with the heaviest destruction recorded in the Brovary district, where 14 locations were hit, according to Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the Kyiv Regional Administration.
The damaged sites included private residences, warehouses, production facilities, and vehicles. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in these incidents.
