The search efforts for a seven-year-old British girl who went missing after being swept out to sea in Morocco have faced obstacles once again. Inaayah Makda, a resident of Blackburn, was at a beach in Casablanca with her parents when a large wave struck them on January 28, causing them to lose sight of her.
Adnan Hussain, the local MP, provided an update stating that the sea search operation had been halted due to a recent storm. He acknowledged the ongoing land-based search and rescue operations and expressed gratitude for the support shown by the community in Blackburn during this difficult time.
Hussain reassured the public that search and rescue efforts were still ongoing, despite the challenges posed by adverse weather conditions. He mentioned ongoing communication with the family and efforts to coordinate with relevant authorities to continue the search operation.
Inaayah’s parents shared their heartbreak over the incident, describing the profound impact it has had on their lives. They expressed concerns about the lack of practical support received from UK authorities and emphasized the need for more assistance during such crises.
Describing Inaayah as a bright and loving child, her parents expressed hope for her safety and prayed for closure, regardless of the outcome. A fundraising campaign has been launched to support private search efforts and cover essential family expenses, raising over £61,000 to date.
