“Senator Lindsey Graham, Key Trump Ally, Dies at 71”

Date:

Senator Lindsey Graham, a close ally of former President Donald Trump, has passed away at the age of 71, according to his office. The Republican representative for South Carolina died suddenly after a brief illness on Saturday. Emergency services responded to his Capitol Hill residence on reports of a cardiac arrest. Graham had returned to the US from Ukraine after meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.

A statement from his office requested privacy for the family during this difficult time and expressed gratitude for prayers. Graham, who was expected to appear on NBC News’ Meet The Press, had a long political career, first elected to the House 30 years ago and later to the US Senate in 2002. He was known for his strong support of President Trump and his vocal stance on defense and foreign affairs issues, including advocating for US involvement in Ukraine.

Despite some disagreements, Graham remained a loyal supporter of Trump, even after the Capitol riots of January 6, 2021. South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster expressed devastation over Graham’s passing, praising him as an irreplaceable fighter for the state and the country. Graham’s legacy as a dedicated public servant and ally to Trump will be remembered by many.
