Sibling of Slain ICU Nurse Denounces White House Lies

Date:

The sibling of Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse who was fatally shot by US ICE agents, has spoken out against the false information being spread by the White House, calling it “disgusting lies.”

Micayla Pretti expressed her dismay, questioning when the misinformation would stop and how many more innocent lives would be lost before action is taken. She described her brother as someone who only wanted to help others and highlighted his positive impact on those around him.

Pretti, a US citizen working at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, was tragically killed during a federal immigration operation in the city. The circumstances surrounding his death have led to conflicting reports from federal authorities, local officials, and witnesses.

While federal agencies claim Pretti was present during a targeted operation to apprehend a violent assault suspect, eyewitnesses and video evidence suggest a different sequence of events. The footage shows Pretti using his phone to document the situation and attempting to assist a woman before being pepper-sprayed, restrained, and ultimately shot.

Contrary to initial reports by federal authorities alleging Pretti was armed and posed a threat, verified videos show him holding a phone, not a weapon, prior to the incident. Additionally, local officials confirmed his legal possession of a firearm and lack of criminal record, casting doubt on the official narrative.

Despite efforts to discredit him, Pretti’s family has refuted the claims made by the White House, emphasizing that he was not a threat to law enforcement. The administration’s portrayal of Pretti as a domestic terrorist has been strongly contested by his relatives, who seek to set the record straight about his character.

The incident has taken place against the backdrop of heightened immigration enforcement in Minneapolis, overseen by Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino. Following the incident, there have been widespread protests and legal challenges, with concerns raised about the handling of Pretti’s case and the broader anti-immigration stance.

As the public discourse around the incident continues, there is growing unease within the Department of Homeland Security over the portrayal of Pretti as a danger to law enforcement. Despite pushback from officials and mounting evidence to the contrary, the administration has maintained its stance on the matter.
