Two siblings are facing immense challenges after losing their mother, sister, and father in a series of tragic events. Mason and Bailey are at risk of homelessness as their father, Ted Papworth, passed away without a will, resulting in his property being seized by authorities. Ted, devastated by the deaths of his partner Michelle Devine and seven-year-old daughter Theia, died in his sleep in March.
The siblings’ aunt, Olivia Knight, expressed deep concern for their well-being, stating that “They are not in a good place.” A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist Mason, 20, and Bailey, 18, with securing a home and covering funeral expenses.
Michelle, aged 43, and Theia lost their lives in a car accident on the A3 near Haslemere, Surrey, in February. Michelle’s family remembered her as having a kind heart and being a devoted mother. Tragically, Michelle’s death occurred shortly after her sister passed away from a heart attack.
Ms. Knight shared her thoughts with the Daily Mail, emphasizing the young age of the siblings and the immense grief the family is experiencing. Ted and Michelle, who were married for 22 years, remained close despite living apart. Ted, who resided in Spain, struggled emotionally after the accident, leading to his untimely passing.
Described as a devoted father, Ted was profoundly affected by the loss of Michelle and Theia. The surviving children, residing in Portsmouth, Hampshire, now face the financial burden of funeral expenses and the absence of a home following the loss of their father’s property. A GoFundMe page has been established to support Mason and Bailey during this challenging time, with over £8,000 raised thus far to prevent them from becoming homeless.
