“Snooker Enthusiast Wins £4M Home in Cornwall”

Date:

A devoted snooker enthusiast, Simon Mawdsley, aged 41, recently won a stunning coastal home worth £4 million in Cornwall through Omaze. Simon wasted no time in deciding to replace the dining table in the house with a snooker table, showcasing his passion for the sport.

Originally from Greater Manchester, Simon, a web developer, also received a generous sum of £250,000 to assist in settling into his new home. His wife, Riza, an Auditor from the Philippines who relocated to the UK in 2019, may need some convincing about the sudden change in the house.

Having purchased his winning ticket for just £15 as part of his Omaze subscription after participating in draws for over two years, Simon humorously mentioned his plans to create a personal “mini Crucible” overseeing the estuary. The fully-furnished house, which is mortgage-free with covered stamp duty and legal fees, offers a comfortable lifestyle for Simon and his family.

Given the option to reside in, rent out, or sell the property, Simon’s forgetfulness in updating his address led Omaze representatives to mistakenly visit his previous residence in Bury before locating him in Bolton. Overwhelmed by the news, Simon expressed his disbelief at becoming the owner of a luxurious property in Cornwall and shared his excitement about the future possibilities.

Simon’s parents were initially skeptical but later emotionally embraced the reality of their son’s incredible win. Planning a family holiday at the new house, Simon looks forward to creating cherished memories with loved ones and indulging in his passion for snooker in the spacious residence.

With newfound financial security, Simon and his wife are reevaluating their retirement plans, having previously mapped out a meticulous savings strategy. Omaze’s President, James Oakes, expressed joy over Simon’s win and highlighted the positive impact of the Omaze community in raising funds for charitable causes.

The Omaze platform not only offers remarkable prizes but also contributes significantly to supporting charitable initiatives, exemplifying the generosity and positive impact of its participants in raising funds for vital causes nationwide.
