Essex Police are currently conducting an investigation following an incident in which several men forced a teenage girl into a vehicle and drove away with her.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 3, just after 6:50 pm in Church Langley, Essex. The girl was taken to Epping in the vehicle but managed to escape and seek safety approximately 40 minutes later.
Authorities are now urging anyone in the vicinity at the time to provide any relevant information. The suspects are described as white males wearing tracksuits.
A spokesperson for Essex Police stated that detectives are looking into the matter that took place in Harlow on the evening of August 3. The initial report indicated that the girl was coerced into a vehicle in Church Langley and transported to Epping, where she successfully fled the vehicle. The incident began at the Minton Lane car park near Tesco at around 6:50 pm.
The victim managed to exit the vehicle on Buckingham Road at the junction with Lower Swaines at 7:30 pm and sought assistance. The girl, who is safe with her family, is receiving support from specialized officers and fortunately did not sustain any severe injuries.
Investigating officers are urging witnesses of the incident in Church Langley or Epping to come forward urgently. The girl, described as white with blonde hair, was dressed in a black top, black shorts, and white socks and trainers. The vehicle involved is believed to be a black car, and the suspects are identified as white men in tracksuits.
Detective Sergeant Paul Marks emphasized the importance of identifying the individuals and the vehicle involved in the incident swiftly. Individuals present in these areas are urged to review their dashcam or CCTV footage for any valuable information.
