A mother in deep sorrow witnessed her teenage daughter’s final moments after a scrambler bike struck her while she was crossing the road on Sunday.
Yesterday at approximately 2:20 pm, authorities responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a bike on Ratoath Road in Finglas, Dublin.
A scrambler bike carrying an adult male and a teenage boy collided with 16-year-old Grace Lynch as she was crossing the road. Grace suffered catastrophic injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries a few hours later.
The suspected driver of the scrambler bike was apprehended by the police. Grace’s devastated mother, Siobhan, expressed her grief and described her daughter as beautiful and loving, emphasizing the need for justice.
Siobhan, along with Grace’s family, mourned the loss of their beloved daughter and sister, highlighting Grace’s positive qualities and the impact of her untimely death. Siobhan urged for measures to remove such bikes from the roads to prevent similar tragedies.
Emergency responders worked swiftly to assist Grace at the scene before transporting her to Connolly Hospital, where she was pronounced dead later that evening.
The individuals on the scrambler bike sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to the hospital for treatment. Law enforcement officials are investigating the incident, and the road where the collision occurred remains closed for examination.
