Tragedy struck as a teenager lost their life and another sustained severe injuries following a collision involving a car and a van.
The incident occurred in Ferny Hill, Enfield, around 11.40pm on November 6, prompting a swift response from law enforcement and medical teams. Upon arrival, authorities discovered three individuals, including two teenage boys and an 18-year-old, injured and in need of immediate medical attention.
A man in his 40s, believed to be the van driver, also suffered injuries and was transported to a medical facility for treatment.
Tragically, despite medical interventions, the 18-year-old victim succumbed to their injuries on November 8. One of the teenage boys sustained life-altering injuries, while the other teenage boy and the van driver suffered injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
Authorities are providing continued support to the victim’s family through trained personnel and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the crash to step forward.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.
Detective Constable Pauline Redmond, part of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, stated, “Our inquiries into the incident are ongoing as we seek to understand the circumstances leading to the 18-year-old’s tragic passing. By unraveling the events, we aim to bring some solace to the bereaved family and friends. Our heartfelt condolences are with all those affected by this devastating event.
“We urge anyone present at the scene that night to come forward. It is possible that other vehicles with dash cams or additional information could assist our investigation. We encourage them to reach out to us promptly.”
