Hope Roberts, a 19-year-old from Bedford, embarked on her collecting journey two years ago and officially secured her record in December after counting a total of 877 Jellycat items. However, a recent inventory has revealed that her collection has now grown to 1,021 cuddly toys, key rings, stickers, and other items.
Utilizing her TikTok and Instagram platforms, Hope showcases her beloved Jellycat treasures, expressing how they bring immense joy to her life. She appreciates the diverse range of Jellycat products available, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the community surrounding these collectibles.
Displaying her collection predominantly in her bedroom and her childhood bedroom at her parents’ home, Hope treats each item with equal care, whether they are preloved, secondhand, or brand new.
Jellycat, a British soft toy company established in 1999, has gained significant global popularity in recent years, becoming a viral sensation.
Hope’s passion for Jellycat memorabilia was sparked when she stumbled upon a cream bunny with a pink bow at a charity shop, purchased for a mere 20p due to its eye-catching appearance.
Her collection grew steadily but rapidly as she received more Jellycats as gifts and explored the various types and designs available. Not having a particular favorite, Hope appreciates the wide array of products, including pin badges, gift bags, and other collectibles.
Among her prized possessions are a medium and small Bashful Maple Bunny, acquired at a bargain price, which sellers on eBay have listed for up to £2k. Due to the significant number of gifted and secondhand items in her collection, estimating its total value is challenging for Hope.
