A newly released video shows 15-year-old Kian Moulton attempting to deceive the police into believing he was a heroic bystander who discovered 12-year-old Leo Ross injured. Moulton was captured on camera telling officers a fabricated story about finding Leo injured and claiming innocence.
The footage, recorded by a police officer’s body camera, was unveiled after reporting restrictions were lifted, following Moulton’s sentencing to a mandatory life term with a minimum of 13 years to serve. Moulton falsely described the events, stating he found Leo already injured and refrained from touching him to avoid implication.
Prior to Leo’s murder, Moulton had engaged in violent acts, including stabbing Leo with a kitchen knife and assaulting multiple individuals in a park. His violent behavior extended to terrorizing his neighborhood and committing acts of vandalism. Detectives speculate that Moulton lingered at the scene of the attack to witness the aftermath of his actions.
Moulton was apprehended after police found incriminating evidence at his residence, including clothing stained with Leo’s blood and the murder weapon, which contained DNA from both Moulton and Leo. Leo’s father expressed his outrage at Moulton’s actions and advocated for a life sentence without parole, emphasizing Moulton’s lack of remorse.
