Two teenagers were recently released from the hospital after enduring a horrifying kidnapping incident where they were forced to dig their own graves at gunpoint. The boys, aged 14 and 16, were abducted and held captive for hours in a secluded area near Nantes, France, a situation believed to be connected to ongoing disputes between rival drug factions.
The victims were taken in a vehicle to a forest, where they were stripped, assaulted, and coerced into digging graves under threat of violence. Fortunately, they managed to escape and seek help from a nearby residence. Authorities have initiated an inquiry into the case for “violence and kidnapping with a weapon” following the events that took place on January 2.
The ordeal ended when the teenagers sought assistance from a resident in La Chapelle-sur-Erdre around two hours after their abduction. The homeowner alerted the police upon observing the boys’ injuries, including cuts on their hands and faces. One of the teens had also sustained a stab wound in the thigh, as confirmed by Antoine Leroy from the Nantes prosecutor’s office, who stated that the victims are no longer hospitalized. Leroy emphasized that the incident is linked to drug-related crimes and territorial disputes among criminal factions.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, which is part of a series of disturbing occurrences involving young individuals amid the ongoing drug conflicts in France. Reports indicate that organized criminal groups are targeting even children as young as 12 for trafficking illicit substances. In a separate incident last month, eight individuals were apprehended on suspicion of murder after a teenager was killed and his body set on fire, with authorities uncovering evidence of a meticulously planned execution.
The victim, a 19-year-old, was discovered with gunshot wounds, including one to the head, and evidence of deliberate burning. Investigations revealed that the live streaming of the man’s death on social media was linked to an escalating gang rivalry in Nîmes. The surge in violent incidents in the region has been associated with gangs relocating from Marseille, prompting the implementation of a curfew for under-16s in the city last summer.
