Teen’s Fatal Shooting Leads to Arrest of Machete-Wielding Group

In a shocking incident, local residents witnessed a group armed with machetes just before a 14-year-old student was fatally shot in broad daylight. Police initiated a murder investigation leading to the arrest of three teenagers. The victim, identified as Eghosa Ogbebor, succumbed to his injuries despite efforts by paramedics at the scene in Woolwich, south east London.

Subsequently, two 14-year-olds and an 18-year-old were taken into custody on suspicion of murder connected to the incident. Witnesses reported a large group of youths seen in the area, some of whom dispersed into an underpass. Police presence intensified in the vicinity, with a police tent set up outside a first-floor flat where the tragic event occurred.

Community members expressed concerns over escalating violence, mentioning prevalent gang activities not always reported to authorities. Police forensic teams commenced thorough searches in the vicinity, including the underpass and surrounding areas. Detective Chief Inspector Lucie Card urged anyone with relevant information to come forward to aid the ongoing investigation.
