Tesco Pharmacies: Your One-Stop Health Hub

Date:

When it comes to maintaining our well-being, there are times when we could use some extra guidance and assistance. Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK and catering to more than half a million customers weekly, stands ready to lend a hand. Whether you need to pick up prescriptions, utilize their wide range of healthcare services, or consult with their expert pharmacists while doing your regular shopping, Tesco has you covered.

Balancing essential health check-ups amidst a hectic schedule can be challenging for many individuals. Seeking answers to health concerns online when pressed for time often adds to the stress rather than providing comfort. “This is why we offer convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and wellness products in our pharmacies for our customers to access while they are already in the store,” notes Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu shots and vaccinations to weight management programs, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies act as a convenient hub for friendly guidance. “A brief visit to our store can offer crucial reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” emphasizes Tom.

Moreover, pharmacists can help save time by prescribing treatments for common ailments such as sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

For individuals dealing with chronic health conditions, Tesco Pharmacists are equipped to offer support. “Our Tesco Pharmacists have undergone additional training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and British Heart Foundation to provide information and assistance, increase awareness, and mitigate the risks of cancer, heart diseases, circulatory conditions, and type 2 diabetes,” discloses Tom. “While shopping at Tesco, simply approach the pharmacy counter and ask for the pharmacist wearing a Let’s Talk badge.”

“If you have inquiries about your heart health, our pharmacy teams are available for a quick, friendly walk-in blood pressure check – no hassle, no appointment needed,” assures Tom. “A brief visit to our store can provide peace of mind or prompt support if required.”

Tesco Pharmacies have administered over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests to customers this year alone, showcasing the impact of this valuable service.

The benefits of in-store pharmacy services extend beyond customers to Tesco colleagues as well. “Tesco employees can also take advantage of the convenience of support through our pharmacies and other healthcare services,” adds Tom. “All colleagues have access to virtual GP consultations and additional assistance on areas like sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being through the Employee Assistance Programme.”
