“Tragedy Strikes: Three French Tourists Lose Lives in Oman Boat Accident”

Three French tourists lost their lives and several others were injured when their boat unexpectedly overturned in the Wilayat of Muttrah in Oman. Emergency response teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Unit in Muscat Governorate swiftly arrived at the scene to rescue the victims from the water.

According to reports, a passing boat assisted in saving some of the tourists who were traveling from Bandar al Rowdha in the Muttrah area to the Damaniyat Islands when the incident occurred around 9am. Along with the 25 individuals on the tour, a guide and the boat captain were also onboard during the tragic event.

The Royal Oman Police and maritime authorities have initiated a formal inquiry to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the accident. They are extending assistance to the survivors and the families of the deceased travelers.

In a statement released by the Royal Oman Police, it was mentioned that a boat carrying a group of twenty-five French tourists, along with the tour guide and boat captain, capsized, resulting in the death of three tourists and injuries to two others with minor wounds. The injured individuals received treatment from ambulance crews affiliated with the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance at the scene, while investigations are ongoing to determine the incident’s specifics.

Authorities frequently caution individuals about the hazards of the sea and its unpredictable conditions. In past incidents, tragedies have occurred in the waters of Oman, emphasizing the importance of safety precautions and vigilance.
