A tragic incident occurred at a residence in the Meadows neighborhood of Boynton Beach, Florida, where a three-year-old girl lost her life after getting her head stuck in a toy kitchen set while under the care of a babysitter. The Boynton Beach Police Department responded to a call reporting an unresponsive and non-breathing child on July 23. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by the officers and subsequent treatment by Boynton Beach Fire Rescue, the toddler passed away on July 27.
Reports indicate that the child and her sibling were at the babysitter’s home when the incident happened. The babysitter had left the children in the care of their spouse, who discovered the girl with her head trapped inside the play kitchen during a routine check. The child’s sibling mentioned that the three-year-old was trying to retrieve toys that had fallen into the play set when the accident occurred.
According to Boynton Beach Police Public Information Officer Chelsea Sanabia, the toy kitchen involved was an old wooden set purchased a few years ago from a Facebook Marketplace seller. The specific details of the toy’s make, model, or brand remain unknown. The exact cause of the child’s death has not been disclosed, and it is unclear if the incident will undergo criminal review.
Authorities have not released the identities of the girl, her parents, or the babysitter as the investigation continues.
