Responders including ambulances, police vehicles, fire trucks, and an emergency helicopter rushed to the area where the incident occurred on Grimmaische Street, a popular shopping district that connects various landmarks to Leipzig’s market square. A police spokesperson confirmed that multiple people were hurt in the incident, stating, “A car went through the city center.” Approximately ten ambulances are said to be present at the scene, and the stores in the pedestrian area have been closed.
