Gardai have initiated an inquiry following the death of a male individual at a music event in East Cork today, July 19. The man, said to be in his late 40s, was discovered unresponsive in his tent at the Love Is A Stranger Festival held at Ballyvolane House near Fermoy. Despite prompt emergency response, he was declared deceased at the scene.
Subsequently, the festival has been canceled in light of the tragic incident. The sorrowful news has been conveyed to his family, as reported by Cork Beo.
In an official statement, the organizers expressed deep distress over the attendee’s passing: “We are profoundly saddened by the loss of a festival participant today. Our hearts go out to the individual’s family, friends, and loved ones during this extremely challenging period.”
The organizers affirmed their full cooperation with An Garda Síochána and emergency services, refraining from further comments while investigations are ongoing. As a mark of respect for those impacted, the closing concert scheduled for today has been called off.
