Three teenagers have been hospitalized following a collision involving a car and a group of individuals in a town center. The incident occurred on Saturday evening during a disturbance in Skerries, located in the northern part of County Dublin, Ireland. Onlookers witnessed the crash on Harbour Road around 9:30 pm, according to Gardaí.
Video footage captured moments before the collision shows rival groups of teenagers in a confrontation nearby. Subsequently, the footage depicts a group of youths rushing toward a white BMW parked with its back door open on Harbour Road. The vehicle is seen rapidly reversing about 20 feet before abruptly stopping, as reported by DublinLive. The driver then accelerates and crashes into the group of teenagers standing by the roadside.
One individual is seen being thrown into the air upon impact before the car speeds away. A Garda spokesperson confirmed that two girls and one boy, all teenagers, sustained injuries in the incident and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The spokesperson stated, “Gardaí in Skerries responded to reports of a public order disturbance at Harbour Road, Skerries on Saturday night, July 18, 2026. At approximately 9:30 pm, a large group of youths gathered, and a confrontation ensued. During the altercation, a vehicle struck several individuals.”
The injured teenagers received medical care at Beaumont Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with no arrests made at this point.
