Police have provided a sad update in the investigation of a missing teenager who vanished last week. A body has been found during the search for Alan Hirst, who was last spotted in Leintwardine, Herefordshire on February 5 around 10:50 pm. West Mercia Police clarified that the death is not considered suspicious.
Although formal identification is pending, Alan’s family has been notified by authorities. The police emphasized respect for the family’s privacy during this challenging period. Alan was last seen riding a bicycle towards the village of Adforton.
In a separate incident, a body believed to be that of Mark Counsell, a British man reported missing after contacting his family on Christmas Day, has been discovered in Malaysia. Mark, 31, from Pontypool, had been traveling in Southeast Asia but went missing after his holiday call. The authorities had issued an appeal to find him, suspecting he was in Thailand or Kuala Lumpur.
A police spokesperson mentioned that Malaysian Police found a man’s body on January 7. While formal identification is pending, Mark Counsell’s family has been informed, and the death is not viewed as suspicious. The police expressed their condolences to Mark’s loved ones.
Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, a woman’s body was found in Lurgan during a search for a missing person. The woman, identified as Caitlin Green, 24, had been missing since January 31 when she left a friend’s residence in the Derry Street/Lord Lurgan Park vicinity. The police have informed Caitlin’s family, although formal identification is pending. The death of the mother of two is not deemed suspicious, the police confirmed.
The PSNI mentioned in a statement that a post-mortem examination has been completed, and the circumstances surrounding Caitlin’s death are not suspicious. The PSNI extended their sympathies to Caitlin’s family during this sorrowful time.
