“Travelodge Updates Pet Policy for Summer Travel Season”

Date:

Budget hotel chain Travelodge has recently updated its pet policy just in time for the busy May half-term and summer travel season. Travelodge now allows up to two domesticated animals, such as cats or dogs, to stay in their standard and SuperRooms at all of their hotels. Previously, the charge for pets was £20 per stay, but it has now been increased to £25 to cover the cost of additional cleaning required after each pet’s visit.

According to a Travelodge spokesperson, the decision to raise the pet supplement was made to account for rising operational expenses while still providing a high-quality experience for guests traveling with their pets. The flat fee of £25 per pet covers the entire duration of their stay, making Travelodge a competitive and cost-effective option for pet owners. Customers can easily add their pets to their booking during the payment process on the website.

While pets are allowed in rooms, they are not permitted in bar or restaurant areas. However, assistance dogs are always welcome free of charge at all Travelodge hotels. The move by Travelodge comes amidst a broader discussion on pets in public spaces, with a major European airline planning to allow dogs to travel in the cabin alongside their owners.

Recent polls have shown that a significant number of dog owners base their holiday destinations on their pets’ preferences. Popular dog-friendly travel destinations in the UK include Devon and Cornwall. The majority of dog owners prioritize locations with good walking spots for their pets, and many plan their travel routes around dog-friendly rest stops.
