“Trial Set for Laborer Accused in Woman’s Bar Death”

Date:

A young laborer has entered a plea of not guilty in the case of a woman’s death outside a crowded bar. Liam Moor is accused of causing the death of Lisa Denton in a suspected one-punch incident near North Shields, Tyneside, on January 24. The victim, aged 40, sustained a severe head injury and passed away the following day after being taken to the hospital following an alleged altercation on Russell Street around 10 pm.

Moor, a 19-year-old laborer, appeared in Newcastle Crown Court and denied the charge of manslaughter. His trial is tentatively scheduled for September 14, and he has been granted bail.

According to Prosecutor Clare Haswell, Moor allegedly punched the woman in the face outside Charlie’s Bar and then left the scene without rendering aid or contacting emergency services.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Atherton, the Senior Investigating Officer, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, emphasizing support for Lisa’s family during this difficult time. He urged the public to refrain from speculation and respect the legal process.

A statement from Lisa’s family conveyed their devastation over her passing, describing her as a beloved individual with a warm and lively personality. They expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support received.

Lisa’s family highlighted her ability to make people feel valued and welcomed, regardless of their relationship with her.
