Donald Trump criticized Keir Starmer for not assisting in resolving issues in Iran and expressed doubts about his leadership. Trump emphasized the importance of the historical relationship between the US and the UK but questioned its current state under Starmer’s leadership.
While acknowledging Starmer as a “nice man,” Trump refrained from stating whether he supported a change in the UK’s leadership. He highlighted the trade deal with Starmer and suggested that the UK did not show enough appreciation for it. Trump also mentioned his anticipation of meeting the King soon.
Regarding his personal disappointment with Starmer, Trump mentioned a disagreement over sending aircraft carriers after a conflict. Despite liking Starmer, Trump expressed disappointment with his decisions. He referenced Winston Churchill, contrasting Starmer’s actions with the late British leader’s legacy.
Trump also shared a story about a bust of Churchill in the Oval Office, attributing its return during his presidency to his admiration for Churchill. He concluded by reiterating that Starmer did not measure up to Churchill’s stature.
