President Donald Trump raised new health concerns this afternoon as he stumbled over words and displayed a slurred speech while discussing transgender athletes. During his remarks, Trump expressed opposition to “trans… mutilation,” struggling with the word before stating that he opposes any “transgender gender mutilization of our children.”
The President referenced the recent decision by the International Olympic Committee to ban transgender female athletes from competing in women’s events, aligning with his own executive order on sports in preparation for the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The actual number of transgender women participating at an Olympic level remains uncertain, with no transgender woman who transitioned from male competing in the 2024 Paris Summer Games, although weightlifter Laurel Hubbard competed at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 without winning a medal.
Trump also discussed border security in the same speech, emphasizing the importance of protecting the country from individuals entering through open prisons worldwide. Additionally, he spent approximately five minutes discussing the security measures in place for the White House ballroom, emphasizing the use of bulletproof glass, a drone-proof roof, and bio defense systems.
In response to questions about petrol prices and the Strait of Hormuz, Trump reiterated his stance on certain European nations being responsible for their own oil and gas transportation through the strait. He emphasized that the US would not be involved in the strait’s affairs.
Furthermore, Trump provided a timeline for the withdrawal of US troops from the conflict with Iran, stating that he expects troops to be withdrawn within “two weeks.”
