“Trump Slams UK Carriers, Questions NATO Support in Iran Conflict”

Date:

President Donald Trump criticized the UK aircraft carriers, referring to them as inadequate “toys,” while expressing frustration over UK opposition to his proposed military actions in Iran. During a White House Cabinet meeting, Trump raised concerns about Iran’s missile capabilities, particularly regarding the targeting of Diego Garcia, an island in the Chagos Archipelago.

Trump denounced NATO for its perceived lack of support in the Middle East conflict, stating that the alliance only offered assistance after the threat had been eliminated. He belittled the UK’s offer to send aircraft carriers, dismissing them as inferior to US carriers and declaring that their assistance was unnecessary.

Pete Hegseth, alongside Trump, highlighted the potential threat posed by Iran to London, citing recent missile tests as evidence of Iran’s capabilities. Hegseth emphasized that Iran’s actions should not be underestimated, especially given the proximity of London to Iran.

The discussions at the Cabinet meeting underscored Trump’s skepticism towards international allies and his assertion of US military superiority in handling global threats.
