Two men have been taken into custody following an alleged rape incident involving a woman in Doncaster.
South Yorkshire Police received a distress call at 2:09 am last Saturday (May 2) reporting a sexual assault by two men on Bank Street in Mexborough. Subsequently, a 48-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of rape, while a 45-year-old man was detained on suspicion of sexual assault on Sunday (May 2). Both individuals have been released on bail pending further investigation.
The first suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, of average build, and bald, while the second suspect is noted as a white male, around 6 feet tall, with a slim physique. The victim is currently receiving specialized assistance.
Detective Chief Inspector Susannah Wagstaff assured the community, stating, “We understand that this incident may raise concerns among our local residents, but we want to reassure you that a dedicated team of detectives is diligently working on advancing this case.”
