Temperatures in the UK continue to rise as a heatwave sweeps through the country, with weather experts anticipating even hotter conditions tomorrow. The Met Office’s latest forecast projects a peak of 35C in southern areas and 31C in the north today, followed by potential highs of 36C and 33C respectively tomorrow.
The GFS weather model aligns with these predictions, foreseeing similar temperatures for tomorrow, with southern and western England possibly reaching 36C. The model suggests that areas as far north as Yorkshire could experience 33C, with the south-east, particularly around London, hitting 35C.
Tomorrow’s temperature anomaly maps reveal widespread areas across the UK colored in deep red and black, indicating temperatures significantly above the usual seasonal averages. According to the GFS model, seven English counties could see temperatures soaring to 36C.
Despite the scorching conditions, the Met Office warns of possible heavy rain in the north-west tomorrow, with a slight chance of showers elsewhere. However, most areas are expected to remain dry and sunny.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the Met Office forecasts highs of 35C in the south on Saturday and 32C in the north, followed by slightly cooler temperatures on Sunday. The weekend weather outlook includes an easterly breeze, bringing clouds to eastern coasts while the west enjoys sunshine and warmth, with a chance of showers in the southwest on Monday.
As the heatwave gradually subsides next week, temperatures will remain warm, with highs in the mid-to-high 20s expected in many areas. The Met Office anticipates a prolonged period of fine, dry, and warm weather, with temperatures above average for the season, particularly shifting further north and west as high pressure moves across the UK.
