Dozens of flights to and from the UK have been canceled today due to the ongoing conflict in Iran.
Various airlines have adjusted their flight schedules because of airspace limitations in the Middle East, resulting in the cancellation of 21,915 out of 38,193 scheduled flights beginning February 28.
Dubai International Airport had to briefly halt operations on Wednesday morning following a drone attack in the vicinity that left four individuals injured. Authorities have confirmed that flight operations have now resumed.
Both Emirates and Etihad are currently running reduced flight schedules from Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports. Qatar Airways is actively assisting affected passengers and facilitating their reunification with family members while Qatari airspace remains inaccessible.
Operations are set to recommence once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirms the safe reopening of Qatari airspace, according to the airline.
British Airways recently announced the suspension of flights to and from Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, and Tel Aviv until later this month. Flights to and from Abu Dhabi have been canceled until later this year, resulting in the cancellation of numerous British Airways services in the upcoming months.
Data provided by analytics firm Cirium exclusively to the Mirror reveals that 55 out of the scheduled flights for today have been canceled as of 12:45 pm, accounting for 2.49% of the total flights scheduled between the UK and the Middle East.
