Britons can expect hot weather with temperatures reaching up to 30C in some areas in the coming days, as per the latest forecasts. Following a period of cool and damp conditions, a shift to warmer weather is anticipated due to a high-pressure system moving in from the south.
According to recent weather projections, parts of the southeast, including Chelmsford, could experience temperatures peaking around 30C by the end of next week. BBC weather forecaster Tomasz Schafernaker expressed optimism about the upcoming weather, highlighting the transition to brighter and warmer conditions after a spell of cloudy and rainy weather.
The peak of the heatwave is forecasted for next Friday, June 19, with areas like Lincolnshire, Rutland, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, and London expecting temperatures of at least 28C. Conversely, regions further north and west are likely to experience cooler temperatures.
While the southwest of England, Wales, and Scotland may see temperatures in the mid-teens, central and northern England could reach above 20C, with some areas hitting the mid-20Cs. Schafernaker noted the influence of the jetstream and high-pressure systems from the south, indicating a potential increase in warmth across the UK.
Looking ahead, the Met Office predicts a shift towards more settled conditions with above-normal temperatures, particularly in the southeast. While some rain and strong winds are expected in the middle of next week, the following weekend could bring very warm or hot weather to parts of the country.
