“UK Pledges Support to Ukraine Against Putin Amid Rising Tensions”

Keir Starmer, in a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, affirmed the UK’s commitment to undermining Putin’s influence. The Prime Minister cautioned against Russia benefiting from surging global oil prices and the potential easing of sanctions due to instability in the Middle East.

Zelensky visited the UK to finalize a new defense agreement, engaging in discussions at Downing Street before addressing Members of Parliament in Westminster. The PM stressed the importance of maintaining focus on Ukraine amidst the US/Israeli tensions with Iran, emphasizing the need for continuous support to counter Putin’s advantage.

Amid global oil supply concerns following events in Iran, the US temporarily relaxed restrictions on Russian oil. Zelensky expressed gratitude to the UK for its unwavering support during challenging times.

During his visit, Zelensky was welcomed by the King at Buckingham Palace, where he praised the resilience of the Ukrainian people. Nato Secretary-General Mark Rutte, along with the PM, joined Zelensky in a meeting where they interacted with soldiers from The Rifles, set to utilize Ukrainian-made Nemesis heavy drones.

Addressing MPs, Zelensky condemned the alliance between the Iranian regime and Russia, labeling them as “brothers in hatred.” He highlighted the joint efforts of Tehran and Moscow in utilizing Shahed kamikaze drones against Ukraine and Gulf countries, advocating against regimes based on hatred threatening Europe and its allies.
