A significant development has surfaced regarding the upcoming state visit of King Charles and Queen Camilla to the United States.
During their visit next month, the royal couple will not be able to meet with survivors of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. US congressman Ro Khanna urged the King to privately meet with the survivors, but due to ongoing UK police investigations related to Epstein, this meeting cannot take place.
The highly anticipated historic trip of Charles and Camilla is set for late April, despite calls for its postponement or cancellation due to the Middle East conflict. President Donald Trump described the visit as a “momentous occasion” on his Truth Social platform, revealing plans for a lavish Banquet Dinner at the White House on April 28. The “historic state visit” is scheduled from April 27 to April 30, although Buckingham Palace did not officially disclose the exact dates.
Trump expressed enthusiasm about spending time with the King, emphasizing his respect for him. Just before Buckingham Palace’s announcement, Trump suggested that the UK should secure the Strait of Hormuz independently.
In a controversial move, Trump indicated that countries reluctant to intervene in Iran’s situation should take action in the strait themselves. He emphasized the need for allies to be self-reliant in military matters, hinting at strained relationships with traditional partners like the UK.
