Ukraine Strikes Russian Warehouses, Inflicts Billions in Losses

Date:

Ukraine has launched devastating attacks on key logistical centers in Russia, resulting in injuries and significant damage. The strikes targeted warehouses owned by online retail giant Wildberries in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk, causing over £1 billion in losses and injuring fifteen people. These assaults followed the replacement of Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief with a more modernizing military leader, signaling increased pressure on Russia’s economy and calls for peace talks.

Additional Wildberries facilities in Elektrostal and the Tambov region were also hit over the weekend, resulting in £1.5 billion in damages. Ukraine has accused the retail giant of supporting Russia’s military efforts, as Wildberries is owned by Tatyana Kim, Russia’s wealthiest woman with a fortune of £6.1 billion.

The attacks have further strained Putin’s struggling economy, with significant damage to Wildberries’ operations. Efforts to extinguish the fires at the warehouses in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk involved a firefighting helicopter, highlighting the extensive destruction caused by the strikes.

Moreover, an oil depot in Armavir was set ablaze by Ukrainian drones, resulting in one fatality and aiming to disrupt oil supplies in Russia. The ongoing conflict has seen power plant strikes in Crimea, causing blackouts, as Ukraine gains momentum in the war against Russia. The change in Ukraine’s military leadership reflects a shift towards utilizing advanced technologies like drones and missiles for defense.

As tensions escalate, demands for further strategic changes in Ukraine’s defense leadership are anticipated. The retaliatory strikes on Russia’s logistical centers underscore the escalating conflict between the two nations, with casualties reported on both sides.
