Simon Hollister, facing a dire diagnosis of Glioblastoma, a severe brain cancer, is determined to fight for his life despite the limited support from the NHS due to minimal funding for brain tumor treatments.
The University of Surrey students in Guildford hosted a charitable event called Get Hammered For Charity, generating £6,000 to aid Simon’s cause. The overwhelming turnout of over 1,000 attendees, including friends of Simon’s son Raphael, showcased strong community support. Plans for a follow-up event in September aim to raise additional funds for Simon’s ongoing treatment.
Despite facing challenges accessing appropriate medical care, Simon remains optimistic about his future.
