Police in Greater Manchester have initiated an urgent search for a escaped prisoner. Marwan Jumaa, 20, who was considered a danger to himself and others, went missing after being moved from a secure hospital to North Manchester Hospital for medical care. Authorities are asking for any information on his location and advising the public not to approach him but to contact emergency services immediately.
Described as a black male with a slim build, short dark hair, and standing approximately 5ft 10ins tall, Jumaa is known to have connections to various areas in Greater Manchester, as well as Leeds and London. He was last seen in Radcliffe. Detective Superintendent Amber Waywell from Greater Manchester Police emphasized the public risk posed by Jumaa, particularly towards women due to his previous offenses against them.
Jumaa is serving an indefinite sentence in a secure hospital for assaulting two women. Recent court records reveal his guilt in three different crimes last year, including an attack on a police officer, robbery, and causing serious harm to another woman. Detective Chief Inspector Abigail Cronin urged anyone with information on Jumaa’s whereabouts to come forward, assuring the community that efforts are ongoing to locate and return him to custody promptly. If spotted, the public is advised not to engage with him but to call emergency services and provide log number 3544 of 14/07/2026.
