“US Urges Citizens in 14 Countries to Evacuate Amid Iran Tensions”

Date:

American citizens residing in 14 countries, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar, are being urged to leave immediately due to heightened safety concerns amid escalating tensions with Iran. The State Department has set up an emergency task force to enhance security at US diplomatic facilities and support Americans in the region. While evacuation flights have not been arranged, officials are assisting citizens in securing seats on commercial flights for those wishing to depart the Middle East.

The advisory to evacuate comes from Secretary of State Marco Rubio, emphasizing the safety and security of Americans in the Middle East as a top priority. Mora Namdar, Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs, echoed this message, urging Americans to leave the affected countries using available commercial transportation and providing contact information for assistance.

The alert follows continuous missile strikes between the US, Israel, and Iran, now in their fourth day. Weekend airspace closures have disrupted travel for thousands of individuals in the region, with key transit hubs like Dubai and Abu Dhabi forced to halt operations, affecting major aviation routes.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio addressed the media, outlining the mission to target Iran’s ballistic missile and naval capabilities. He disclosed preemptive US strikes against Iran to prevent potential attacks on American forces following Israeli actions. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump claimed on social media that withdrawing from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal prevented Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, signaling a commitment to ongoing military action against Iran.

Trump also indicated a willingness to continue strikes against Iran for an extended period to neutralize any threats posed by the nation, suggesting the Middle East conflict could persist for weeks or longer. The situation remains fluid, with potential implications for regional stability and global security.
