Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced his plans to visit Pakistan, Oman, and Russia to discuss bilateral and regional issues. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth criticized Europe’s response to the Strait of Hormuz crisis, urging for more practical approaches instead of elaborate conferences. He emphasized the importance of loyal allies and a mutually beneficial partnership, highlighting the need for understanding from all parties.

In a separate development, Iran’s top diplomat, Abbas Araghchi, is set to meet with officials in Pakistan to facilitate a potential second round of ceasefire talks between the United States and Iran. The White House has not provided immediate details on Araghchi’s visit to Pakistan or whether a US delegation will be present.

President Trump is dispatching envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Pakistan for continued negotiations with Iran. The White House expressed optimism about the upcoming discussions, with Leavitt stating their hope for progress towards a deal. Vice President JD Vance will not be part of the delegation but will maintain his active involvement in the process.
