Three individuals, including an 8-year-old child, were hospitalized following an incident where a vehicle struck pedestrians before colliding with a motorway service station in Cardiff. The accident occurred at Cardiff Gate services near junction 30 of the M4 around 11:45 am, as confirmed by the police.
Among those taken to the hospital were the child and a 39-year-old man, both pedestrians, as well as a 76-year-old female driver. An eyewitness recounted how a black BMW car hit people outside the building before crashing into the structure itself. The impact shattered the building’s windowfront, prompting bystanders to come to the aid of those affected.
The witness expressed shock at the incident, speculating that the driver may have had a medical emergency due to the vehicle’s high speed into the building. Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene. South Wales Police issued a statement detailing the collision with a retail premises and confirming that none of the injuries were life-threatening.
