A woman is currently hospitalized in critical condition after her garments caught fire on a bustling street in Edinburgh. The incident took place on Bowmont Place in St Leonards around 12:10 pm on Monday, prompting an emergency response.
Witnesses, including Royal Mail workers, rushed to aid the woman as she struggled to remove her burning trousers, with one individual even dousing the flames with water. The distressing scene was captured on video but deemed too graphic for public release.
Following the intervention of bystanders, firefighters arrived to extinguish the fire. Despite the swift response, the woman sustained severe injuries and was swiftly transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

A Police Scotland representative stated that the woman was found outside flats on St Leonards Street and was promptly taken to the hospital for critical care.
