Athletes representing 104 countries are participating in the event, highlighting the sports of the Turkic peoples of Central Asia. The games, held in Kyrchyn Gorge, located about 314 kilometers east of the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek, will conclude on Sunday.

Participants at the event are engaging in various competitions, including showcasing skills with hunting birds like golden eagles and falcons. Teams from Uzbekistan and Russia are competing in the traditional Central Asian sport of “kok-boru” or “buzkashi,” where mounted players aim to score points by tossing the carcass of a headless goat into a designated area. Archery contests are also part of the games, with participants showcasing their skills with bows and arrows while on horseback.

Apart from the competitive events, spectators are enjoying the culinary delights and craftsmanship displays at the venue, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the World Nomad Games. Craftsmen and women are exhibiting their talents, such as spooling wool and creating pottery, providing visitors with a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the region.
