The earthquake, measuring approximately 8.2 magnitude, rattled Davao City around 7:40 am local time on Monday, June 8, 2026, causing strong tremors reported by residents.

As a precautionary measure, individuals have evacuated buildings in response to the seismic activity.

Several countries are now under a potential threat of a tsunami, with warnings issued for their coastal areas.

The earthquake, striking Mindanao in the Philippines, was recorded at a depth of 10km (6.2 miles).
