“Iran Warns US and Israel: Potential Targets Amid Rising Tensions”

Date:

Iran has issued a caution that the United States and Israel may be seen as “legitimate targets” if President Donald Trump launches an attack on the Islamic Republic, raising concerns of a potential escalation to World War III.

Demonstrations against Iran’s theocracy have entered their second week, with protesters flooding the streets of major cities, resulting in at least 116 reported deaths. The unrest has led to internet blockages and severed phone connections in the country, making it difficult to assess the situation from outside sources. Reports indicate that the death toll is on the rise, with thousands detained.

Amidst the ongoing turmoil, Iran’s parliament speaker has issued a stern warning that US military and Israeli targets could be at risk if America proceeds with an attack on Iran, a threat previously voiced by President Donald Trump. The warning was delivered by Qalibaf as Iranian lawmakers chanted “Death to America” in parliament.

There are growing concerns that the information blackout in Iran could embolden security hard-liners to crack down harshly on the protests, despite Trump’s assurances of support for peaceful demonstrators. The US has been presented with military options for potential strikes on Iran, but no final decision has been made.

In a live broadcast of the parliament session, Qalibaf praised the police and Revolutionary Guard for their response to the protests and issued a direct threat against Israel and US military targets, hinting at the possibility of a preemptive strike.

While the prospect of Iran launching an attack remains uncertain, especially after previous conflicts, the final decision would rest with Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The US military has affirmed its readiness to defend its interests in the region.

Footage from Iran shows protesters gathering in various cities, with reports of clashes with security forces in Mashhad and other locations. The Iranian government has imposed strict measures, branding protesters as enemies of God and threatening severe consequences for their actions.

As tensions escalate, Iran’s exiled Crown Prince has called for continued demonstrations, urging supporters to display patriotic symbols in defiance of the current regime. The protests, initially triggered by economic challenges and now challenging the religious leadership, reflect a growing discontent within the country.
