Trump Denies Nodding Off, Explains Closed Eyes

Date:

President Trump has provided an unusual explanation for what seemed like him nodding off during White House meetings. During a recent Cabinet meeting, he acknowledged that the sessions tend to be lengthy, with his team praising him at length. A previous meeting in December made headlines as TV cameras captured him appearing to doze off while being lauded by his Cabinet members.

Trump addressed the speculation of him falling asleep by stating that during a three-hour press conference, some observers mistook his closed eyes for sleepiness. He clarified that he merely closed his eyes out of boredom and a desire to conclude the meeting quickly, emphasizing that he did not actually fall asleep.

It is noteworthy that most Presidents do not broadcast their Cabinet meetings live, and such meetings typically do not serve as platforms for excessive flattery. Trump, who is set to become the oldest U.S. President this summer, recently discussed his health in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. He mentioned using compression socks for leg swelling but discontinued their use due to personal preference.

Regarding the bruising on his hands, initially attributed to handshaking and aspirin use by the White House, Trump admitted to exceeding his prescribed aspirin dosage out of superstition and habit. Despite medical advice, he continues with a higher daily aspirin intake, citing its blood-thinning benefits.

Expressing frustration about public scrutiny of his health, Trump engaged in an unplanned call with the Wall Street Journal to address the issue ahead of their coverage. He emphasized his preference for thin blood for heart health, dismissing concerns over his unconventional medical choices.
